Official rules
A one-day contest for the ERP.AI launch. Download Proto, build a real business app on ERP.AI, publish it free for everyone, and reply to the launch post with the link. The best app wins a MacBook. The first 100 apps that clear the bar below win $100 each.
Get Proto at proto.erp.ai and sign in with your ERP.AI account. Creating an account is free.
Tell Proto, in plain language, what business system to build. For example: Build me a purchasing system. Every purchase over $10,000 needs a CFO sign-off.
Proto builds the data, forms, workflows, permissions and dashboards, and tests them on sample records.
Review the changes, release the app and publish it so anyone can use it at no cost. Every published app gets its own page on build.host.
Reply to the launch post from @protosphinx on X with the link to your app before 9:00 am PT on Friday, October 16, 2026.
An app that meets every point below is a qualifying entry. This is the bar for the $100 prizes and the starting line for the grand prize.
A panel of at least three ERP•AI judges scores every shortlisted qualifying app out of 100.
| Criterion | What we look for | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Usefulness | Solves a specific problem that businesses pay for software to solve today | 35 |
| Depth | How well the data model, rules, workflow and permissions fit the job | 25 |
| Completeness | Works end to end with its sample data, with no dead ends | 20 |
| Craft | Clear, quick to understand and pleasant to use | 15 |
| Originality | An idea or approach we have not seen in the catalog | 5 |
| Total | 100 |
By entering, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of ERP•AI US Inc., which are final on every matter relating to the contest. ERP•AI charges no fee to enter or to win. Void where prohibited.
The Build a SaaS App contest (the “Contest”) is run by ERP•AI US Inc. (“ERP•AI”, “we”, “us”). Contact: legal@erp.ai.
X Corp. and Apple Inc. do not sponsor, endorse or administer the Contest, and you release them from any liability connected with it. Apple and MacBook are trademarks of Apple Inc.
The Contest starts when the launch post from @protosphinx is published on X, scheduled for 9:00:00 am Pacific Time on Thursday, October 15, 2026 (16:00 UTC), and ends at 9:00:00 am Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, 2026 (16:00 UTC) (the “Contest Period”). The timestamps X shows are the official clock.
You can enter if all of the following are true:
If you build your app at work or with your employer’s resources, you are responsible for having your employer’s permission. If you work for a government, you are responsible for confirming that you may accept a prize.
Proto is free to download and use. Proto is alpha software, and its features may change during the Contest.
Building with Proto uses AI models. On ERP•AI’s managed plan, AI usage is billed to your ERP.AI balance at the model’s cost plus an 8% Proto Agent fee, or you can connect your own model provider’s key and that provider bills you, as described at erp.ai/pricing. Any starting credit for new accounts is described on that page. Manual work in ERP.AI, such as building forms and tables or setting permissions, is free.
ERP•AI charges no fee to enter, and buying credits does not improve your chance of winning. You are responsible for any costs you choose to incur. Your use of ERP.AI and Proto is governed by ERP•AI’s Terms.
During the Contest Period, reply to the launch post with a link to your published app (an “Entry”).
Several people may build an app together. The person who posts the reply is the entrant, receives any prize and is responsible for sharing it with teammates.
An Entry qualifies if the app meets every point in What your app needs above (the “Requirements”), which form part of these rules.
We review Entries in the order they were posted. We decide whether an Entry qualifies, may ask you how your app was built, and may disqualify an Entry that does not meet the Requirements at any time before its prize is paid.
Each person can win at most one $100 prize, however many accounts or apps they use. The grand prize winner may also receive a $100 prize. The $100 prizes total US$10,000 at most.
Prizes cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged, except as rule 9 provides. If a prize becomes unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
After the Contest ends, a panel of at least three ERP•AI judges scores qualifying Entries on the rubric in How the best app is picked: Usefulness 35, Depth 25, Completeness 20, Craft 15 and Originality 5, out of 100.
We may shortlist Entries first. Each judge scores each shortlisted Entry independently, and the scores are averaged. Ties go to the higher Usefulness score, then to the earlier Entry. Judges use the app’s own sample data and may test it in each of its roles. Likes, reposts and views on X play no part in judging.
The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the grand prize is the U.S. price, before tax, of the model we choose, as listed on apple.com on the day the winner is confirmed.
We deliver the grand prize in this order of preference:
The winner may also choose the ARV in cash instead of the device. A delivered MacBook comes with the manufacturer’s warranty only, and the risk of loss passes to the winner on delivery.
We pay cash prizes in U.S. dollars by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal within 30 days after we receive the winner’s verified details and tax forms. We pay our side of the transfer fees. The winner’s bank or provider may charge its own fees, and any conversion to another currency happens at the provider’s rate.
Winners are responsible for all taxes on their prizes. U.S. winners must provide Form W-9, and prizes worth US$600 or more in a year are reported on Form 1099. Winners outside the U.S. must provide Form W-8BEN. U.S. law may require us to withhold tax from prizes paid to people outside the U.S.; if it does, we will tell you the amount before we pay.
We will announce winners on X by Friday, October 23, 2026, and contact them by direct message from @protosphinx, so keep your direct messages open.
Winners must answer within 7 days and give us their legal name, country, contact email, payment or delivery details and tax forms, together with a signed declaration of eligibility and, where the law allows, a liability and publicity release. We may verify identity and eligibility.
If a winner does not answer in time, is not eligible or does not comply, the prize is forfeited and may go to the next eligible Entry: the next-highest score for the grand prize, or the next qualifying Entry by time for a $100 prize.
You keep all ownership rights in your app and its content.
By entering, you give ERP•AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, demonstrate, link to and describe your app, to take screenshots and recordings of it, and to show your X handle and name with it, in connection with the Contest and in ERP•AI’s marketing, for two years after the Contest ends, without further permission or payment except where the law requires it.
You confirm that the app is your original work or that you have the rights to everything in it, that it contains only sample data, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that it complies with ERP•AI’s Terms and with X’s rules.
You agree to keep the app published and free for anyone to use through November 15, 2026. Unpublishing it earlier may void any prize not yet paid.
We may disqualify anyone who uses more than one account or a false identity, posts automated or bulk replies, buys or manipulates engagement, submits someone else’s work, harasses others, tampers with the Contest or with ERP.AI, or breaks these rules.
If fraud, a technical failure, an outage on X or ERP.AI, or anything else outside our reasonable control affects the Contest, we may extend, modify, suspend or cancel it, and award prizes among the qualifying Entries received before the problem. We will announce any change on X, and any change to these rules will appear on this page with a new date.
To the extent the law allows, you release ERP•AI US Inc., its affiliates and their officers, employees and agents from any claim arising from your taking part in the Contest or from receiving or using a prize.
We are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete or misdirected Entries, for replies that X does not display, or for technical failures. Prizes are provided as is, without any warranty from ERP•AI. Nothing in these rules limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, write to legal@erp.ai so we can try to resolve it informally.
Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in San Francisco, California, or by video. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. You and ERP•AI each waive any right to a jury trial and to take part in a class or representative action. To the extent the law allows, remedies are limited to your actual out-of-pocket costs of entering.
We collect your X handle and the content of your reply and, from winners, the details listed in rule 12. We use them only to run the Contest, deliver prizes, meet legal and tax obligations and, as rule 13 describes, promote the Contest. We keep tax records for as long as the law requires. ERP•AI’s privacy policy applies. Send questions or requests to legal@erp.ai.
Winners will be posted on X. For a written list, email legal@erp.ai with the subject “Build a SaaS App winners” by December 31, 2026.
These rules are the entire agreement between you and ERP•AI about the Contest. If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. If a translation differs from this English version, the English version controls. Headings are for convenience only.
